Team Trellon is going to Drupalcamp Chicago this weekend, and we have an extra ticket. It doesn't have your name on it, yet... but it could.

If you can get yourself to Chicago (or are already there), and you want to join us, let me know. We might just have a ticket for you.

You've been working with Drupal since 4.x. You've attained a mastery of modules, a command of caching, and you build themes that make Chuck Norris weep openly. Now what?

We're giving a presentation about this question in the Drupalcon Sponsor's Corner this year. Think of it as the Trellon "now what?" session, where we help you answer that question.

We got back from DrupalCamp Chicago last week, flushed with success! Michael Haggerty ended up leading two sessions on CiviCRM, introducing it in depth to several of the conferencegoers. Our most recent developer hire, Kyle Cunningham, got to lead an unconference session on forms API as well. Personally, I was blown away by what he can do with that often cumbersome part of the Drupal interface. We're looking forward to being able to package some of his tricks into modules in the near future. Even my presentation was a success, despite some minor technical issues.

When I was asked to write a blog post about myself I was surprised. Who doesn't know me? However, I figured that some may be uninitiated and figured it would be good idea to fill everyone in.

I'm Kyle Cunningham, Trellon's newest developer, master chef and mad scientist. While I am excited by the cooking opportunities, I'm even more excited about developing awesome websites, the likes of which Trellon is already well known for. It's an illustrious
reputation to live up to so I've supplied a brief history of myself:

All of us at Trellon are getting excited for DrupalCamp Chicago in a couple of weeks. The presentations look really interesting: key technologies like Domain Access, CiviCRM, and Panels are all featured... and this Trellonaut in particular is looking forward to learning more about those incredibly powerful tools.

It's always a special time when Druplicon shows up at any of the Drupal conventions and events. The people at Trellon are always on the lookout for when he is going to make an appearance so we can take pictures with our camera phones and MMS them to friends and relatives. Imagine our surprise when we saw him (her?) show up in a music video on one of our favorite social media sites. Pictures below the break.

It's been about a week since returning from Drupalcon Paris, and the consensus at Trellon is that we wish it never had to end. Many of the members of our team have been going to Drupalcons for a long time, and this was definitely one of the most memorable ones on record.

The weekend of June 27th and 28th saw over 200 Drupalers, including myself, flock to Denver for the annual DrupalCamp Colorado. Trellon was proud to sponsor the event. The fact that number of attendees doubled since last year shows the growth and momentum surrounding Drupal. This year, the event was combined with an Ubercamp- a gathering of Ubercart developers and enthusiasts.

I just found out that Drupalcamp Alberta which is taking place from 10-11th July at Lethbridge University is open for registrations. If you are planning to attend why not contact the organisers and propose a session as slots are still available, there is already a growing speaker list including Leisa Reichelt from the Drupal 7 usability project.

The CMS Expo Learning and Business conference is coming up this week in Evanston, Illinois. This event is going to be interesting, in part because I will be presenting (more on that below), but also because the session track really covers a lot of bases.

I would like to welcome a few new members to Team Trellon as permanent additions to our development unit.

We are fortunate enough to be adding not one, but two people named Alan in a single month. That is probably not a record, but it is nice to only have to learn one name. The similarities don't end there, however, and we are happy to be having two technolgists with a serious commitment to the open source community coming on board.

I attended COSSFEST 2009 one week ago. Calgary as it turns out has an active opensource community for its size and the current president of KDE lives there!! I was the only person there who is actively involved in the Drupal community and earning a living from Drupal. However may of the developers were using Drupal in one way or another so I felt at home.
